Have you ever entered projects in a contest? I enter at least 3 projects per year in our county fair and try to send projects to the great Iowa State Fair!
Competitive crochet can be a great way to get your name out in the local community. It's also a great way to show your community that crochet isn't just grandma's afghans! Crochet can be anything from hats and mittens to slippers and jewelry! Don't be afraid to put your work out there. Even if you don't place, the judges will give you advice and tips on how to improve your work and how to get ribbons next year! I've gotten a TON of advice and help from the Iowa State Fair judges! By taking their advice, I got a second place ribbon this year!! Enjoy the competitions and use them to learn and grow as an artist! Thanks for stopping by! Darcy

I love to crochet for my family, my friends and for others. I find my peace from a crazy day or just to relax and get my creative side going when I pick up a hook and yarn. This blog is my favorite pattern links, favorite projects I've completed and just some general crochet fun! Archives
