One thing I absolutely LOVE about the crochet community is how close and supportive we all are for our fellow artists. If someone has a question, there are many people willing to help. If someone needs a pattern tested, there's a line of crocheters ready to help the designer. The other part of that is what this event is all about. Helping our fellow crocheters with bringing their best to their current and to new customers! All of the artists in this blog-hop event have a number of specials to offer for YOU! It could be a sale on finished, ready to ship items or it could be a sale on patterns! It could be BOTH! All I know is, you really need to check out these other crochet sites and artists to see what I'm talking about! This event will run from July 6th to July 24th!! Here is a list of their business name and a link so you can hop on over to next! Just click on each shop's logo to be taken to their shop/site! The first link is to the mastermind herself, the genius behind this awesome event: Deborah Ziegler and her business is From Grammy's Heart. Now for what Darcy's Crochet Creations is adding to the Blog Hop love! I am going to be offering 20% off all of my ready to ship items from my Etsy store as well as 40% off all patterns in my Ravelry store! Click each picture to be taken to the shops!

Oh my goodness! Lots of new things have been happening here at Darcy's Crochet Creations! Lots of new patterns being written and published! You'll notice a new tab on the side of the page! That is a link to my Ravelry store! I am working on new patterns all the time and when I release new patterns, they're always at least 50% off the regular price! How awesome is THAT!??!
I've also got some new goodies in the Etsy store! Even though the weather is getting warmer, that doesn't mean you can't still have wonderful things that are crocheted! See the pics of items that are new below! Another exciting announcement is that it's getting on to fair season! Yep! The Iowa State Fair is coming and so is the Union County Fair! I have lots to get done before June and July! I added it up and I'll be sending about 9 items total!!! I'll keep you updated on the entries! Be on the lookout for a new designer reviews and introductions!!! Until later!! Darcy I was given the opportunity to try out and review some Red Heart yarn products! I love Red Heart yarns and products as a whole! I have to say I'm very thankful for this opportunity! I still have a couple of the yarns to work with and review but I have tried a majority of the yarns that were sent to me.
The first yarn I was SUPER excited about trying was the Red Heart Reflective yarn! The softness of this yarn is amazing! The reflective "thread" that runs through the yarn does get a bit scratchy and might be itchy if it were worn directly on the skin. I love the amount of reflectiveness that is in the yarn as well! Makes for a bright impression when it's all "lit up"! The only con that I had with this yarn was the number of knots that were in the yarn from it being either cut or split. I was able to work around it them though. I used the Red Heart Heads Up yarn with the Reflective yarn while writing a new pattern! I have to say I love the softness and thickness of this yarn! So soft and warm! I would have NO problem making other items with this yarn in the future. The only con that I had with this yarn was the threads of the yarn do split quite easily. There were some knots throughout this skein of yarn as well but easily worked around. You can see a picture of the Heads Up and the Reflective yarns used in the pictures at the end of this post. The Medley yarn is AMAZING! Soft, thick and beautiful, this yarn is perfect for any project that you're looking to make it with! Perfect for hats, scarves and mittens! I loved working this up and how wonderful it feels on my skin. I was also given some Swanky to try! I have to say, this is the first time I wasn't a fan of a Red Heart yarn! The sequins were difficult to work around and kept getting caught on all of the other yarn in the skein! While it's pretty and shiny, I wouldn't recommend using this yarn with anything smaller than an I hook honestly. I will be having a review coming up soon with some of the other goodies that were sent to me!! For now....lets see who won the Tote full of Red Heart yarns and the other amazing prizes!!! Tote of Yarn...Nicole Eckert 3 Patterns from Allie Cat's Hats....Caroline Tweeboom 1 Bubble Hook from Sick 'Lil Monkies...Breana Tapp 3 Patterns from Blackstone Designs....Marissa Catano 1 Pattern from Jour Jeana Designs....Karen Pollard 3 Patterns from Darcy's Crochet Creations...Mallorie Valdez 10 Patterns or $20 Store Credit to Kaleidoscope Art and Gifts...Linda Lioi Lubbert AND Beth MumblesMummy Stitch Markers from Savannah Rae Designs...Rebecca Carrier 5 Patterns from Too Yarn Cute...Natasha Hudgins AND Heather Louise Navarro You all have 48 hours to contact the designer for your prize!!! Happy New Year!!! Darcy I have released my very first pattern! I am so excited about this venture in my business! I do plan on releasing more patterns in the future but we all have to start somewhere right!??! I would like to share this pattern with you at a 50% discount that is ONLY good for today! There is no code needed for this discount so it's easy as can be to get!
Head to the Ravelry store and just pop the pattern into your basket and you're good to go! Here's to a great start of a new branch of my business!!! http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/polar-bubbles-hat Who doesn't like getting things for free? I certainly do. HOWEVER...I like my free things to come to me the RIGHT way! Pattern Theft has been a huge issue with almost every single pattern writer and designer. There are websites that are dedicated to getting people patterns that have been copied and stolen from the rightful designer. I have seen patterns being stolen from Ravelry, Craftsy, Etsy and right from the designer's own website! People will buy the patterns and then resell them on other sites for virtual coins or credits. People even do this with FREE patterns from the designers too! They will claim to own the patterns, claim they have written the patterns and steal the pattern designer's pictures! I have taken a pledge to NOT steal designers' patterns! If I get a pattern for free it's because I've won it or it was gifted to me by the designer themselves! If I find someone stealing patterns from designers, I WILL report them! I will do everything in my power to keep this person from selling others' patterns that do not belong to them. Join me on Facebook and take the pledge to NOT ever steal anyone's patterns and to report the people who are stealing them! You can take the pledge here: https://www.facebook.com/PatternPiracyPatrol You can also go to this link to report theft yourself: http://form.jotform.us/form/41078181860152 Thank you for taking the pledge with me to protect our designers who work so hard and have such amazing talent! Darcy Have you ever worked with a crochet hook and thought..."this isn't really all that comfortable for my hand!"
My friend Kelli Wohlgemuth makes these hooks that are AMAZING! She calls them bubble hooks! She shapes and designs all of the hook handles from clay. She has made the most gorgeous and detailed hooks I have ever seen! She truly is an artist and she has a very wonderful gift! All of her hooks are custom orders so you know you'll love every hook you get! Here's an even better deal!!! She's having a sale and TODAY is the last day! HURRY over to her listing on Etsy for the hooks: https://www.etsy.com/listing/179433999/matte-pearl-bubble-hooks?ref=shop_home_active_2 Just add the hook to your cart and use the code: 25PERCENTOFFATSLM You can also find Kelli on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/SickLilMonkeys?fref=photo You will NOT regret getting one or ten of these hooks! Your hands will LOVE you for it! Darcy Due to a recent increase in the amount of unclaimed and unpaid special orders, I am instating a policy of required deposits. If you wish to place an order through Darcy's Crochet Creations, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required via PayPal before production on your order can begin. I always strive to make my customers 100% satisfied with their item by sending pictures to you before payment is required and shipping is completed. This will still be my policy, only the remaining 50% will be asked for after you approve of the item(s). I really appreciated your understanding in this as I continue to improve my business and the products offered to all of my customers!
Many blessings!!! Darcy For over two years now, I've focused mainly on making baby items. I've made baby skirts, baby hats, baby booties and baby bonnets. I have noticed an abundance of items around facebook, Etsy and other places on the internet that offer the baby items! With the lack of movement regarding all of my baby items, it's time to take a step back and change the game up a bit! I have recently acquired some patterns for ponchos, skirts, shirts and vests! These patterns are all for older kids to adults! I have also found new patterns for slippers, ties and of course, hats! Watch for more items, new patterns and maybe even a pattern of my own! I'll let you know when more new things hit the stores!!! If you have any ideas, special requests or questions, shoot me an email, comment on the blog or find me at my facebook page! Have a great day!! Blessings, Darcy |

I love to crochet for my family, my friends and for others. I find my peace from a crazy day or just to relax and get my creative side going when I pick up a hook and yarn. This blog is my favorite pattern links, favorite projects I've completed and just some general crochet fun! Archives
